In retrospect, I have much to be proud of. As a 10-year-old teenager, I was already obsessed of painting the concrete forms of my dreams with the brush in my hand. At such a young age, I had already learned the necessity to practice painting deep into the night in order to achieve constant improvement in the sophistication of my brushwork. My endowments and my dedication helped me secure three major prizes at international adolescent fine art competitions. My substantial progress in practicing fine art also opened the door to developing my perceptive horizon and to tapping my tremendous potential. No matter how difficult the courses in my high school were, I could almost invariably achieve full marks in all of them. Upon entering this most prestigious university in China, which is Tsinghua University, in my usual spirit of dedication and perseverance, I once again embarked on my journey of industrious study in the Department of Automation. My exceptionally solid foundation in mathematics provided me with a stepping stone with which I proceeded onto the exploration of other sophisticated and erudite subjects. As a freshman, I taught myself such mathematics courses as Real Analysis and Advanced Numerical Analysis that are only scheduled for senior students. My performance in all the specialty-related coursework not only enabled me to secure the second highest GPA ranking in my class but also furnished me with a powerful instrument whereby to materialize my dreams in the research and development of computer and network technology.
In the scorching summer of 1999, with an entrepreneurial passion that was much more vehement than the scorching sun, two classmates and I commenced to establish our own business and to operate our own company. By any imagination, it was a challenging undertaking. We focused on the development of online multimedia entertainment platform and on the research and development of virtual reality (VC) technology. In the process of developing the software for the VC products, we encountered the major obstacle of how to realize globular equation of the pictures actually taken of the real objects.

The immediate infusion of the cash into our company guaranteed the overall inauguration of our company.
In the initial stage of establishing our business, we foresaw that the VC technology would make tremendous headway in the future network application. The problem we faced at that time was the limited bandwidth of the network, which in turn circumscribed the development of VC technology. After nearly one-year development, our technology has become increasingly mature. Furthermore, our collaboration with Britain's Rotography Company has acquainted us with some refreshingly constructive concepts. With the continued improvement of the China's domestic network environment, we have formally initiated serial services to our clients in the application of VC technology. Program: Teenager & Juvenile Developmental Psychology
In my undergraduate program, I received education across two fields—a degree program in law at the Law School of x University and a degree program in psychology at x University. My rigorous academic trainings across those two fields have given me necessary qualifications for pursuing a more advanced program either in psychology or in law, endowing me with a unique advantage in interdisciplinary knowledge.
As far as I am concerned, law and psychology are reciprocal. They all pertain to human behavior. As a matter of fact, my thesis in law, entitled “ xX “ explores juvenile delinquency by examining the complicated psychological factors of the younger generation of China in family, school and neighborhood settings. However, there are essential differences between them. In terms of the causal relationships of human behavior, law is primarily concerned with the treatment of the consequences of human behavior while psychology probes into the motivations that cause people to act as they do. In the framework of human relations, law aims at orderly and well-regulated social relationship while psychology, with its interventions into the process of human development, seeks to facilitate the healthy development of the individuals.
While law and psychology are both indispensable to the proper functioning of our society, when it comes to making a choice between those two fields in which to pursue a graduate program, I decide to opt for a program in Developmental Psychology. My decision is motivated by the fact that law can only deal with the aftermath of human behavior whereas psychology can provide preventive measures against possible negative human behavior. Child & adolescent psychology, a field I am interested in, may facilitate the development of healthy personality structure that may enable children and adolescents interact with the society in a harmonious manner.
I have received sound academic trainings that a student of psychology can expect in China, excelling particularly in Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology and other core courses, all of which have imparted to me the necessary theoretical knowledge. My 87/100 GPA in Psychology has made me the top student in my class and the winner of a series of the university’s top-level scholarships. As an undergraduate, I have attempted at some tentative research by submitting essays and research papers to provincial-level and university-level journals (please refer to my Resume). In performing those researches, I find that I have benefited considerably from my solid mathematics foundation and the related methodology—my score for the Advanced Mathematics course is 98/100 while the SPSS was nearly full mark. I have mastered important statistical and quantitative methods, computer programming and LISREL with much facility and I excel in designing experiments and preparing questionnaires.
I started to perform formal academic research at the Developmental Psychology Lab in x University two years by working as a research assistant to Prof. x, a leading Chinese scholar on social development in childhood and adolescence and peer relations. By focusing on the peer relations, social cognition, social self-concept, attributions, and past social experiences, I completed a full-length research paper x, which became a poster presentation at the x. My research indicates that in addition to maintaining an appropriate level of social self-concept and optimistic attributional style, it is essentially worthwhile to emphasize another two strategies to improve the positive peer nominations: to pay special attention to the attributions to negative events of the life, and to attribute social popularity or success to some stable causes. Based on my distinguished academic performance, I attended the x and the x.
Off campus, I have worked as a social worker offering psychological consulting for the “No Worry Teenagers” column for the authoritative journal x, dealing with the problems concerning interpersonal relations and social cognition of adolescents and young adults. This experience allowed me to gain insight into many important aspects of the mental lives of this group of people beyond the mere statistical data. However, it is a regret that my knowledge is insufficient to offer adequate consulting service to my audience of such diverse backgrounds. I am strongly interested in the developmental psychology of adolescents because by helping adolescents build up a healthy psychology that may enable them to successfully integrate into the competitive world of adults, hence fewer social problems could be created. In my proposed program, I would like to concentrate on the following subjects: social cognitive and social-emotional development in childhood and adolescence; peer relations and family relations and their influence on development; resilience in high risk settings; development of self-esteem; gender differences and similarities, and research methods. Applied Program: Wireless Telecommunications
On August 27, 20xx, at the Central Institute of the Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group based in Beijing, a young woman, full of energy and self-confidence, was giving a presentation entitled “The Design of the Switching Numerical Method of the Radio Resource Management (RRM) Strategy in TD-SCDMA, and the Testing of Its Simulated Systems,” which received rapt attention and high remarks from all the experts in Computer and Telecommunications who attended the meeting. That woman was I. At present, TD-SCDMA, W-CDMA, and CDMA 20xx are considered the main technological standards in the third generation of the world’s technological development in mobile telecommunications. And the design of a switching computation method for the RRM Strategy is a key element and technological crux for the TD-SCDMA technology. In retrospection, I found that it was my great enthusiasm for mobile telecommunications, and my persistent pursuit of accuracy and perfection that have helped me win accolades from colleagues and experts.
In China, since the TD-SCDMA uses a smart antenna, it makes a demand for a finer research on the computation method for the RRM Strategy, in areas such as PC, DCA, and HC. To me, a new starter in the company, it was a real challenge. Since the research team was new, it lacked engineering data and practical experience, although the equipment of the lab was quite advanced. It was only after much library research, thinking, and consultation with experts did I find a RRM computation method suitable for a smart antenna. Because a smart antenna has its advantages of a more accurate VE locating and reduced searching areas, this computation method effectively lowers the complexity of the switching process and its failure rate. During the time when I worked for the project, I often stayed up several days in a roll to perfect a lab test. But I also derived an enormous sense of satisfaction and fulfillment after overcoming obstacles, which more than compensated the pains and difficulties that I had to go through.
The rapid development of mobile telecommunication technology places a high demand on professionals working in this field. To a certain extent, it has to be a labor of love. My keen interest in mobile telecommunications emanated from the concept of “personal communication.” During my undergraduate years at the Northwest University of Industry, I spent much of my spare time browsing over professional publications and journals, to keep myself abreast of current developments. The concept of “personal communication” I encountered during this process impressed me immensely. A system of “personal communication” is one that allows the user to communicate at anytime, anyplace, to anyone, and in any way. It painted such a beautiful of picture of a future society that I became fully convinced that it is a subject well worth my lifelong pursuit. This was why I chose Mobile Telecommunications as my area of specialization in the graduate program. As a graduate student, I completed several research projects independently and successfully, including, for instance, “Turbo Code and the Application of Its Coding Concept.” In short frame conditions, the Turbo Code, with its improved application in engineering, seems to have a bright future in real-time voice-data service (Please see the attached article). After completing my graduate degree, I entered Datang Group, a pioneer in China’s software development. Here I did software design for the switch control template used at the RNC equipment for the TD-SCDMA system, and developed a switching computation method for the RRM Strategy. I went through the entire process of software design for the switch control template for the RNC equipment, from topic analysis to the project outline and then to actual program writing.
The present development of telecommunication technology indicates that the smart antenna, software radio, and the transmission technology of subline下行high-speed subdivided exchange data (下行高速分組交換數(shù)據(jù)傳輸技術(shù)) are key technologies for today’s mobile telecommunications. Software radio, in particular, has attracted much public attention. The use of DSP and software to solve the problem of wireless interfaces of diverse standards on a public hardware platform has become a major issue pursued by many professionals in our field. I too hope to make my own contribution to the technological development in this area. In the next few years, the traditional concept of using chips to build wireless equipment for mobile telecommunication will be seriously challenged. In recent years, the technologies and standards of the third generation of mobile telecommunication have been rapidly updated. Software radio, I believe, will be the future of our trade.
My desire to know more about computer engineering prompted me to rise above my present conditions. The United States, as technological superpower, have first-rate teaching faculty and research facilities in the world. Its ideological openness and tolerance make a sharp contrast to Chinese culture, which tends to value tradition rather than innovation. Wireless telecommunication may be said to be one of the newest research areas, and it is new concepts and new vision that give life to the industry. I believe that in the fine research environment in the United States, I will be able to make “shortcuts” in attaining my academic and career goals.
I would like to apply for admission to the Center for Wireless Telecommunications of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. As the most prestigious research institute in Wireless Telecommunications, the Center has a large number of famed scholars and professionals dedicated to the theoretic research of Wireless Telecommunications. Meanwhile, it maintains close contact with the telecommunication industry, and in this way can test the theory in practical experimentation, which in turn promotes theoretic research. It is an ideal place for me to fully develop my research potential.
I look forward to finding a teaching position at college level in China after completing my graduate education, which will allow me to continue my research work in Wireless Telecommunications. I will impart my theoretic and practical knowledge to my students, and hope that this will benefit China’s wireless telecommunication industry, and society at large. I will make every effort to make the idea of “personal communication” a reality.

留學(xué)馬來(lái)西亞體檢準(zhǔn)備攻略
一、體檢準(zhǔn)備
1.材料準(zhǔn)備
要準(zhǔn)備的材料不算多,主要是大家的身份證明,即本人的護(hù)照和簽證,由于是新生居留和學(xué)生卡可能還沒(méi)有發(fā)放,所以直接出示自己的護(hù)照以及簽證,就足夠證明本人的合法身份了。
然后是進(jìn)行體檢的表格(Health ExaminationForm),可以抵達(dá)后領(lǐng)取,也可以直接在上下載,里面又涉及到基本信息的內(nèi)容是需要自己填的,而且還需要貼上最近的照片。
2.身體準(zhǔn)備
體檢的前一天要保證正常的飲食和作息,這樣才會(huì)有一個(gè)比較健康的身體狀況,而且當(dāng)天要記得吃了早飯?jiān)偃ィ蝗豢赡軙?huì)低血糖,而且要記得多喝水,因?yàn)橐M(jìn)行尿檢。
女生要特別注意避開經(jīng)期,因?yàn)轶w檢中部分的項(xiàng)目是在經(jīng)期的時(shí)候不能做的,大家再進(jìn)行預(yù)約的時(shí)候,一定要保證自己不是在經(jīng)期或者即將到來(lái),保證自己能夠完成所有的項(xiàng)目檢查。
二、體檢地址
基本上各大合法的診所和醫(yī)院,都是可以進(jìn)行體檢的,其結(jié)果都會(huì)受到認(rèn)可,大家選擇距離自己比較近的就可以了,不過(guò)由于需要進(jìn)行胸透等檢查,所以要確保診所有X光設(shè)備。
三、體檢流程
首先要做的就是填表,完善表格的基本信息,如果大家在家已經(jīng)填好了可以在現(xiàn)場(chǎng)節(jié)省這一步驟,然后就是接受尿檢,需要去廁所取樣,記得多喝水才能夠順利的拿到樣品。
緊接著就是去五官科進(jìn)行視力、耳鼻口的檢查,近視的學(xué)生可以直接報(bào)自己的視力,這樣不需要摘眼鏡,還需要測(cè)身高和體重;緊接著是測(cè)量血壓,然后會(huì)抽血準(zhǔn)備樣品檢查。
最后就是去進(jìn)行X光檢查,對(duì)內(nèi)臟進(jìn)行直接的胸透,需要脫掉上衣,女生也要脫內(nèi)衣,檢查是比較快的,大家不需要擔(dān)心,整個(gè)過(guò)程大概兩個(gè)小時(shí),完成后就可以回家等結(jié)果了。
馬來(lái)西亞留學(xué)行李清單
一、證件類
去馬來(lái)西亞讀書,證件是一定不能少帶的。如果你少帶了哪樣證件的話,連出入境都是不行的,更別說(shuō)去馬來(lái)西亞的學(xué)校辦理入學(xué)的手續(xù)了。身份證的原件你可以不需要帶,但是護(hù)照是一定要帶的,還有學(xué)校給你發(fā)的錄取通知書,對(duì)你辦理入學(xué)是非常重要的,還有證件照片,在辦理學(xué)生證的時(shí)候會(huì)用得上。還有一些其他學(xué)校需要你準(zhǔn)備的文件,你一定都要帶齊全了,把他們都放在你隨身攜帶的包包里面,放在大行李箱里面也會(huì)很麻煩。
二、費(fèi)用
到馬來(lái)西亞去讀書是有英語(yǔ)的要求的,所有有需要學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的學(xué)生要接受英語(yǔ)的培訓(xùn),如果是在國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)習(xí)3個(gè)月的話費(fèi)用是5000元左右,在馬來(lái)西亞學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的費(fèi)用是8000元左右。在課程的`學(xué)習(xí)上面要看你們選的學(xué)校,在公立學(xué)校讀本科的學(xué)費(fèi)是8000元-12000元之間,碩士的學(xué)費(fèi)是12000-15000元之間,在馬來(lái)西亞的非公立學(xué)校讀書的學(xué)費(fèi)是30000-40000元之間,碩士一般是學(xué)習(xí)一年半學(xué)費(fèi)是70000元。另外還有生活費(fèi)用3500元-5000元一個(gè)月,一年下來(lái)在生活上面的花費(fèi)是42000元到60000元左右。
三、生活類
1、衣物:馬拉西亞是沒(méi)有冬天的,所以羽絨服等非常厚的衣服是不需要帶的,多帶幾件T恤,就你們平時(shí)在國(guó)內(nèi)夏天穿的衣物就可以,鞋子也是。衣服、鞋子在馬來(lái)西亞好一點(diǎn)的都比國(guó)內(nèi)的要貴,所以還是從國(guó)內(nèi)帶過(guò)去會(huì)好一點(diǎn)。
2、文具:你在上課的時(shí)候做筆記需要用到的筆記本還有熒光筆,鉛筆、橡皮擦、筆芯也都帶上,如果你使用鋼筆的話,也帶一瓶墨水過(guò)來(lái),還有小型的訂書機(jī)等等,你可以把這些東西都放在你的文具包里面不會(huì)散落出來(lái)。
3、洗漱用品:洗漱用品雖然在馬來(lái)西亞的超市里面有賣,而且還便宜,但是短時(shí)間你可能沒(méi)有時(shí)間去購(gòu)買,你可以從家里帶少量的過(guò)來(lái),等到把這部分的用完之后,再去超市買,還有一些護(hù)膚品這里也是要比國(guó)內(nèi)的要便宜,不需要從家里帶很多過(guò)來(lái)。
4、藥品:帶一些常見(jiàn)的藥品,比如感冒的、過(guò)敏的、止癢的、中暑的等等,平時(shí)用藥就可以治好的小病就不用去診所了。
5、防曬用品:馬來(lái)西亞的天氣非常的曬,防曬霜是最最重要的,還有太陽(yáng)鏡、太陽(yáng)帽、遮陽(yáng)傘,這些可以把它帶齊。
6、電器:手機(jī)、電腦(有就帶過(guò)來(lái))、充電器、電池、插線板、轉(zhuǎn)換插頭(這個(gè)其實(shí)在馬來(lái)西亞也有,還是帶著比較好)。
